Located on an isolated site in Philadelphia, this hotel attempts to repair damage to the fabric of the city. Railroads, streets, sidewalks and a river all cross paths at this point. The result is a stratification of the landscape which prevents movement through the city. By negotiating between programmatic requirements of the hotel and the topological needs of the site, the building becomes a complex landscape that repairs the fabric of the city while simultaneously creating program space underneath.
